Phonak Roger On V3 Wireless Microphone

The Roger On V3 is a multipurpose wireless microphone designed for people with hearing loss who face challenging listening situations — whether in noisy environments, at a distance from the speaker, or in group conversations.

Three Automatic Listening Modes

The Roger On V3 automatically switches between three modes based on how it is being used:

  • Presenter Mode — Worn around the speaker's neck to transmit speech directly to your hearing device from up to 25 meters (82 feet) away.
  • Table Mode — Placed flat on a table to pick up voices from all directions during group conversations, meetings, or family dinners.
  • Pointing Mode — Held in hand and aimed at a specific speaker in noisy social settings such as restaurants or gatherings.

Key Features

  • 🎙️ 25-meter (82 ft) wireless range — ideal for classrooms, fitness classes, places of worship, and large meetings
  • 📱 Bluetooth connectivity — stream calls from your cell phone directly to your hearing aids
  • 🔊 Audio input — connect to your TV, laptop, tablet, or other audio devices via the included USB-C to 3.5mm adapter
  • 👥 Multi-microphone network — use up to 10 Roger microphones simultaneously for large meetings or multi-talker environments
  • ♾️ Unlimited receiver connections — connects to an unlimited number of compatible hearing devices
  • 🦻 Broad compatibility — works with most hearing aids and cochlear implants from Phonak and other brands with a direct audio input

Proven Performance

According to published data, Roger provides a 61% improvement in speech understanding in group conversations in loud noise compared to hearing aids alone, and up to 62% greater speech understanding over distance compared to people without hearing loss.

Ideal Use Scenarios

  • Workplace meetings — Use in presenter mode or combine with Roger Table Mic for full meeting coverage
  • Classrooms — Instructor wears the Roger On; students receive audio directly to their hearing devices and to a laptop for captioning
  • Social gatherings — Pointing mode zooms in on the person you want to hear in noisy environments
  • Places of worship & community groups — Network multiple microphones for full room coverage
  • Fitness classes & auditoriums — Long-range transmission keeps you connected even at a distance

Roger ON v3

Pro It does amplify remote sound, up to certain distance
Pro Pointing mode does minimize background noise
Con The sound equalization emphasizes higher pitch, difficult for my case.
Cannot hear when speakers drop their voice, which seems common.
Wish there is adjustable equalization.
Con Wish the amplification is adjustable.
SoSo The battery does not live up to the claim it lasts 8 hours.
More like 5 or 6.
MyRogers App - requires Location (GPS) to be turned on. My location is
none of Phonak's business! What are they trying to collect out of that?

Helps in a small group

This Roger mic helps in a small group but still can't noise cancel as well as a plain telephone headset or not quite as well as the small Phonak mic. I'm disappointed but it's still worth keeping for small groups in a quiter environment. Also, I can point it at someone such as a clerk or bank teller without them having to clip it on like my Phonak mic. Deaf and Hear Alberta gave great service and a good price.
