Duty to Accommodate

Under the Provincial and Federal Human Rights Acts, service providers have a legal obligation to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, including people who are Deaf and those with hearing loss up to the point of undue hardship. This includes visitors to your business and employees. 

Exploring Communication Options

Exploring available communication ideas such as a virtual ASL Interpreter, closed captioning, emergency flashing lights, a personal FM system, a Counter Loop with T-coil enabled hearing aids/Cochlear Implants, a Pocketalker personal amplifier, or the Phonak Roger microphones may be useful to your customers, clients and patients accommodation process.
