Teletypewriters (TTYs) and Accessories
All calls can be made through an analog phone line with the toll-free Relay service. A TTY is a special device that lets those people who are deaf, late deafened, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired use the telephone to communicate.
If you don’t have a TTY, you can still call a person who is deaf, late deafened, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired by using your phone providers (Telus, Bell, Roger, etc.) Relay Operator. With the Relay Operator, the operator types whatever you say so that the person you are calling can read your words on their TTY display. They will type back a response, which the Relay Operator will read out for you as a hearing person, to hear over the phone.
