Duty to Accommodate

Under the Provincial and Federal Human Rights Acts, government offices, service providers, businesses, employers, and places of worship have a legal obligation to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, including people who are Deaf and those with hearing loss, up to the point of undue hardship. This includes visitors to your public space, clinic, office, store, and employees.

Exploring Communication Options

Explore available communication ideas with Deaf & Hear Alberta.  Products and services are useful to your customers, clients and patients when setting up an accommodation plan. We are here to support your organization.

We have sourced and tested equipment from various retailers to ensure that we have the best quality available.

Our store is stocked with a wider selection of equipment to ensure we can accurately address solutions for a wide range of client needs. Large box retailers typically do not carry equipment for the Deaf or hard of hearing.

If you can't find what you are looking for, ask us to source it for you.
